Sogetsu Ikebana crosses several art forms, 3 dimensional design, sculpture, ceramic art, metal art, water features, environmental installation, mixed media, and of course, floral art. Studying other art forms will enrich and enhance your ikebana design, and gain further understanding of ikebana art. I try to put together a series of workshops to lead you beyond ikebana scope. In return, you'll gain more confidence and become more mature in ikebana art.
Auto or program feature in digital camera takes the complicated photo parameters away from consideration. Now, we can just focus on composition. In Sogetsu ikebana, we always look for lines, space, mass, and color. So does photography. In this workshop series, we'll discuss these elements and shoot photos from different angles and different views. By the end of the workshop, you'll have beautiful photo art works framed and hung in your home and for your portfolio.
You need your own digital camera. A point-shoot digital camera will be enough.
